Letter to Editor of Local Orleans Newspaper - Frightful Times

Truly, this is a frightful time for Canada. After so many years of ineffective and corrupt government I have been proud to have Stephen Harper represent Canada internationally as our Prime Minister and he has proven himself as an outstanding leader of our country. He has looked after our interests by making difficult but wise and principled decisions.

PM Stephen Harper took the necessary action to protect our economy long before most of us realized there would be a downturn in the economy. We lead in the G7 countries only because of PM Harper's leadership. Canada is not in the economic turmoil that the other countries are experiencing. The TSX reflected the anxiety of Canadians as it dipped alarmingly when this coalition was announced.

The dishonesty of the coalition leaders is already showing. Despite the announcement that John Manley would be a member of their economic advisory panel, he knows nothing about it and Frank McKenna has also refused this dubious honour. Already the inevitable division and decay is showing in the coalition of these three men who want to grasp power, not in the best interest of Canada, but at any cost.

Canada doesn't need an unstable coalition government. Canadians must stand up for Canada. We need to support the Conservative government so that PM Harper can continue to protect the interests of Canadians with his wise and principled policies.

  1. An excellent article. Every Canadian should be giving our Prime Minister the well deserved support like Wendy has. During this time of such instability in the world, we are proud that our Prime Minister has had the foresight to implement measures that has keep Canada strong. As much as the opposition parties try to discredit what Mr. Harper has done with a minority government prior to this past election, they need to support him in this time of need. If the people of Canada would only have had followed the last few months leading up to the election, they would have seen why Mr. Harper called the election. Parliament was ineffective. The Opposition was not working with Mr. Harper. They worked against him. Furthermore, Layton (ndp) made no 'bones' about plotting against the government prior to the election(the tape.) The opposition threatened to bring the government down on the $1.95 subsidy. I am glad this subsidy was the first item brought forward in that the government 'would lead by example' . It goes to show us all that the opposition parties are in for their own selfish needs. The liberals/ndp and the bloc, (intentional lower case) had the 'coup' planned long before they decided to implement it!! Think not?

  2. This is a much needed blog. Anyone see Harper smack Mansbridge in an interview today? We need to see more of Harper face-to-face sit down interviews with members of the national media.
